In March 2017 the sixth edition of the biggest documentary event of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, East Doc Platform, organized by Institute of Documentary Film in association with One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, will take place in Prague, Czech Republic. Apart from the traditional meetings of documentary professionals, workshops, lectures, pitchings, networking events and other activities, participating projects in development will have the chance to win 7500 EUR.
The Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) is looking for documentary projects in development / production / post-production for the 6th edition of East Doc Platform (EDP)

EAST DOC PLATFORM 2017 will welcome more than 400 guests, including 75 key international commissioning editors, buyers, distributors, sales agents, festival programmers, film funds and independent producers. They will choose from 50 promising upcoming documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe and meet 120 East European filmmakers and producers. This event will feature the 17th EAST EUROPEAN FORUM; the 4th edition of DOC TANK and the 8th PROJECT MARKET.
EAST DOC PLATFORM AWARD
For the third year in a row IDF will present the East Doc Platform Award; financial support in the amount of 7 500 EUR for the best project in development. Out of all East and Central European documentary projects in development participating in the East Doc Platform’s activities, one will be awarded with this prestigious award.
HBO CO-PRODUCTION AWARD
The award will be presented by Hanka Kastelicová, the Executive Producer of Documentaries at
HBO Europe and secures financies for co-production by HBO Europe.
CZECH TV POSTPRODUCTION AWARD
Selected project will be awarded by the Czech Television. Award in the amount of 7 400 EUR in postproduction services. It will be announced by the representatives of the Czech Television.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Particularly creative feature length (52´up) documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe in development, production and post production stage for the East European Forum and Project Market and socially and politically engaged documentary projects with transmedia and campaign potential for Doc Tank. The selection is also open for productions from other parts of the world with projects thematically related to our region.
EAST EUROPEAN FORUM
5-day workshop and 2-day public pitching, feedback round tables, and one-on-one meetings - the region's largest presentation of documentary projects to international commissioning editors, distributors, buyers and film fund representatives.
Open to: 8 - 10 Central and East European projects in development and production
Focus: networking, financing and promotion

DOC TANK
Three days of deep consultations and brainstorming and one day of one-on-one meetings for socially and politically engaged documentary projects with transmedia and campaign potential. Project consultations, development and individual meetings with decision makers at the Project Market.
Open to: up to 7 Central and East European projects in all stages of development and production
Focus: transmedia design, new technologies, campaign, marketing, networking, financing, distributional strategies and promotion
