Punto de Vista Navarra International Film Festival awarded 5 October

The Punto de Vista Navarra International Film Festival was held from 6 to 11 March 2017. A total of 1,290 feature length and 636 short films have been submitted to the 11th edition of Punto de Vista, within the official section, called The Central Region. The films presented came from 79 different countries. The majority of entries were from Spain, followed by France, Argentina, Belgium, the US, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Canada.

Nine feature films and nine short films from made up the Official Section and the Czech Republic was successfully represented by 5 October (dir. Martin Kollár) and Normal Autistic Film (dir. Miroslav Janek). Both films are in the selection called East Silver Caravan representing in total of twenty documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe.

Youth Award for the Best Film, with 1,500 euros in prize money, won 5 OCTOBER, “for the use of everyday objects to reflect key moments in the story that is being told, for treating the audience with respect and intelligence and because we feel that it speaks to a group of people who are starting to face the problems of life without teaching or demanding anything”. 

Punto de Vista Award for Best Film went to THE HOST by Miranda Pennell and Jean Vigo Award for the Best Director to LA DEUXIÉME NUIT by ERIC Pauwels. Award for Best Short Film received FOYER by Ismaïl Bahri. Special Public Award for the Best Film won CONVERSE by David Arratibel.
