The Good Death (dir. Tomáš Krupa, 2018, CZ, SK, AT, FR) was screened at Ji.hlava IDFF 2018 and One World IHRDFF 2019, where the documentary got the award for the Best Film in the Czech Competition. Janette is terminally ill and she would like to die a dignified death, however, this is not possible in her home in the United Kingdom. Determined to see her decision through, Janette opts for physician-assisted suicide. She gets in touch with Dr. Erika in Switzerland, who is willing to help her. Janette must plan her final departure from the UK before her illness prevents her from doing so. Simon has also inherited his mother's illness and, therefore, has much more sympathy regarding her decision than sister Bridget. Nevertheless, both children try to convince Janette that she still has enough time to make a decision.

Kiruna - A Brand New World (dir. Greta Stocklassa, 2019, CZ) had a world premiere at Visions du Reél and the film is nominated for Doc Alliance Award. The award ceremony will take place during Doc Day Lunch at Marché du Film in Cannes on May 21.

Located way above the polar circle, the Swedish mining town Kiruna was built on a great iron ore deposit, and created a significant income for the Swedish government. However, due to the mining the city has started to collapse and in order to save the industry, the city council together with the mining company LKAB have decided to move the town and its citizens 3 kilometers to the east. In this way, the town has turned a potential disaster into a great opportunity. The new Kiruna will be an even more progressive, even better society for the future. But is it even possible to plan an ideal world? On the backdrop of a moving city, the citizens of the New Kiruna are fighting their own battles.

Ticket to the Moon (dir. Veronika Janatková, CZ, DE, 2019), documentary film on utopias of space explorations, will be part of Czech and Slovak Competition at the 54th international festival of science documentary films Academia Film Olomouc. The documentary captures relentless ambition of human mind to escape to outerspace.

In the 1960s and 70s the world was politically divided and on each side of the Iron curtain people lived very different realities. In this time of cosmic spring, both East and West was driven by the conquest of space and by curiosity.
The society collectively believed the commercial Moon travels were about to happen in the near future. Five years before man first set foot on the moon, Pan Am World Airways decided to play on the the space fever of the time and opened a waiting list for the First Moon flight, and soon had 100.000 members from all over the world.
The film tracks back the ticket holders and questions what was so striking about the Moon, what did they imagine and what were they hoping to find?
