THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND ME (orig. Distanța dintre mine și mine)
An intensely personal film about art, belief and politics. Individual memory and official archives portray Romanian Jewish avantgarde poet, musician, visual artist and femme fatale Nina Cassian from her refuge in the Communist underground during the Fascist period in the 1940s that put her on a collision course with the Ceaușescu regime in the 1970s who eventually sent her into an unwanted New York exile in 1985.
A film by Mona Nicoară and Dana Bunescu
Based on an idea by Ada Solomon
DoPs: Ovidiu Mărginean, Rudolf Costin
Editor and sound designer: Dana Bunescu
