Synopsis
Sometime Ago in Africa is an attempt to describe a certain idea, mad as it may have been at the time, which was however most earnestly pursued. The idea originated in inter-war Europe (inter alia in Poland, Austria and the successor states to the Austrian-Hungarian Empire - Czechoslovakia and Hungary) and is revived in one or the other form every now and then.
The planned 1-hour documentary will tell a story of a Polish effort to establish a genuine colony in West Africa. The challenge took place in the 30-ies of the 20th century, it developed in a truly operetta style and, as we know today, ended in a complete failure.
