Synopsis
This film is about a journey of Indira, a Cuban immigrant to America. About an attempt to find a better life and economic security. But also about consequences her emigration inflicted to her family. In Santa Clara in Cuba, she left her 11-year-old son Leandro and mother Xiomara together with many other members of her numerous family. Settled now in New Jersey, Indira struggles to adapt to cold weather, different mentality and to a completely new social system, unfamiliar to Cubans. Her “American Dream” turns to be an “American Nightmare”.
