Synopsis
The dancer Ulrike Hager together with the documentarist Barbara Windtner, both from the Austrian town Linz, follow the traces of the choreographer Isolde Klietmann, a pioneer of Modern Expressionist Dance in Linz, and of her life companion, the manufacturer Hans Mostny, who flew from the Nazis to Argentina in 1938. Travelling to the places where they lived and worked – Linz, Graz, Vienna, Maribor, Mendoza – Ulrike and Barbara learn more about this extraordinary couple that immensely enriched the art scene of their second home town Mendoza and who are unknown in their home country. During their quest, the two young women meet Isolde’s grand-nice Monika Klietmann, who follows them to Mendoza, inspired by the idea to reconstruct parts of Isolde’s dances with the help of Isolde’s former students, lively women between 45 and 85 years old. After many ups and downs, gaps and findings they are getting closer to Isolde´s spirit, bringing into the present movements of a long time long gone.
