Synopsis
Alexander Rastorguev was an award winning filmmaker, but he was also creating new concepts and inventing new ways of making documentaries. He was obsessed by new technologies, that’s why he was fascinated with the options given by Internet, webdocs and new experimental formats. He created filmmaking manifestoes and had dozens followers in Russia and other countries. In 2018 he was assassinated in Central Africa while making a documentary about Russian mercenaries.
The film follows the concepts and visions Rastorguev proposed. It focuses on his creative life and way of thinking. It's not a classical biopic. Narrated through documentary footage and fragments of Rastorguev's films, it shows from the inside what kind of person he was and what kind of films and ideas Rastorguev created.
