Synopsis
30 thousand Hasidim journey to Ukraine to celebrate the Jewish New Year at the gravesite of their holy leader Rebbe Nachman. The film shows tensions, which are formed amongst the pilgrims and the local inhabitants. In the poor post-communist town, which comes to life thanks to the Jewish guests, the demons of nationalism and religious intolerance also come to life.
