The Home Desert

Damir(37) and his assistants Dejan(50) and Milan(37) are hired to paint a medieval orthodox temple on a small island in Montenegro. The well-paid job should last for three months. But nothing goes as planned. The ancient and demanding technique of al fresco, applying colors directly on wet plaster, got even tougher due to the harsh climate. The orthodox sisterhood shares its living space with the men, but nothing else. The nuns regard this rocky island as a home, while the artists didn’t expect to come across the hardest fieldwork so far. After a year the painting crew is exhausted. The  project budget is almost gone. Faraway from the common life, every one of them meets his uncommon self. Will they stay on the island? Damir is the only one who can’t leave before the painting is completed.
