With a Heavy Heart

Serbia has seen an explosion in popularity of a new music genre that combines hip-hop and traditional Balkan folk music. Its epic and melancholic sound is reflective of regional mentality, one that romanticises its own demise. The film follows two characters: Coby, a successful producer and performer, whos soft and introverted personality is at constant conflict with his public macho self. His polar opposite is the loud and flamboyant former go-go dancer/porn star Andjela Veštica. A newcomer to the male dominated scene, she struggles to keep up with her projected persona and the norms of patriarchal society.
