Synopsis

The setting for the film is the Kyrgyz Republic. The production took place just as the country had seen the end of its second democratic revolution (after the Tulip Revolution in 2005) - a violent, ethnic conflict between the Kyrgyz and Uzbek people in the south of the country, and the passing of a constitutional amendment the purpose of which was to reverse, once and for all, the persistent inclination towards authoritarian presidential democracy. While in constant attempts to pose the relation to the work and subjective experience of its protagonist, a freelance photographe Shailo Djekshenbaev, it seems to be the only way to express the dimensions of such a considerable political turnover.
