Synopsis
Inevitably, every relationship is nonsensical to some degree, especially when we are talking about people and parrots. This film was made about them and for Edward Lear, a poet with a Shakespearean name, who began his career as a scientific illustrator and ended up as the king of nonsense. Just like him, the film oscillates between a scientific description and nonsense poetics, when it tries to grasp the tender, absurd, and sometimes cruel relationships between people and animals. And parrots? For years we have been asking if they are intelligent enough to speak with us. But why should they? Nonetheless, Edward Lear's approach was clear, as he claimed „I don't mind dying and going to heaven, but I would feel more comfortable if parrots were there too."
