Synopsis

How is music born? Where does the inspiration come from? How could one visualize the fairytale world of sounds? The anthropological music documentary “The Colours of Islands” is a meeting point of three talented musicians (Villu Veski, Eivør Palsdottir and Barak Levi) from three different islands (Muhu in Estonia, Faeroe and Hawaii). They all draw inspiration from the wonderful scenery and ancient traditions of their native islands. The film seeks the roots and origins of their music.
