Operace Thunderclap - Poslední Mise

Synopsis

The documentary film tells the story of two aviation journalists - adventurers who found the remains of a giant Lancaster bomber in the Krušné mountains. The bomber was shot down during the bombing of Dresden and Saská Kamenice at the end of World War II, on the night from 5 to 6 March, 1945. Thanks to a part of the tail rudder, the story seekers were able to identify the aircrew and contacted its members. In the times of totality, this was fairly unusual in Czechoslovakia. The encounter soon turned into a friendship, lasting to these days with the last surviving member of the FOX 2 flight. Telling about this friendship, the film is mapping the life stories of the protagonists in the course of the past five years while revealing the exciting story of the fatal war night. It is a story of excitement, life, emotions, friendship but also one of death.
