Ida's Idea

Over the years Ida Kelarová has built the successful Čhavorenge choir. For the annual music ensemble she seeks talented new children in Roma settlements in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The culmination of ten days of rehearsal is a concert for the children accompanied by members of the Czech Philharmonic. From the perspective of new participant Monika, Ida has opened up the world of the Roma. Children arriving at the camp rehearse daily and at the same time are confronted with their own Roma identity. The preparations for the performance are accompanied by emotionally charged situations, especially when visiting the poor Roma village of Hermanovce.
