Synopsis
Sixty years ago members of the Soviet Antarctic Expedition went into unknown part of the continent and founded the polar research station “Vostok” there. In 2012 Russian scientists drilled a hole 3 600 meter in the ice getting inside the most ancient lake of the Earth in Antarctica. It was under the ice for half a million years. The newspapers called Lake Vostok the greatest geographic discovery of our time.
