Hannele Korhonen, an ambitious Finnish meteorologist, has been studying clouds all her life. Their essence is chemical, physical and metaphysical. Due to funding constraints on her research, she decides to take up the Faustian challenge of a wealthy sheikh from the United Arab Emirates and apply for a scientific tender. Research into the creation of artificial rain in arid desert land is fraught with a number of moral dilemmas.
