Life as a Novel

Viktor Shklovsky and Roman Jakobson – legendary names without which it is almost impossible to imagine the history of the 20th Century. What they achieved goes beyond the confines of their specialized field of linguistics and literary criticism. And the twists and turns of their fates could serve as the basis of an action adventure novel. Their friendship arose in an instant, but their quarrel lasted over half a century. They were fated to outlive the rest, their friends and colleagues they started out with.
