Synopsis
Spanish artist Patricia Echeverria Liras directed this multimedia project examining the theme of a vulnerable home constantly threatened by military occupation but surviving due to the determination of Bedouin women. Her narrative takes viewers to endangered communities where she introduces the activists, architects, artists and poets who are protecting their homes as well as local culture and history. Collaborating with these women allows the director to weave together fragments of spaces and future visions resonating with the universal longing for a home. The film also reflects the filmmaker’s personal experience of life in Ramallah and her endeavour to bring under-reported stories to the outside world.
