Witcraft was founded in 2008 by script consultant/producer/writer Ursula Wolschlager and script consultant/university lecturer/writer Robert Buchschwenter. The company is active in the field of screenwriting, dramaturgy and project development, promoting this activity in the following spheres:
Development of fictional and documentary film scripts for cinema and television, together with the screenwriter. True to vision Witcraft developed and packaged The Fatherless, Marie Kreutzer’s feature film debut, to subsequently realise it in co- production with main producer Novotny&Novotny Filmproduktion.As production company, Witcraft produced the documentary Gangster Girls, directed by Tina Leisch, which was theatrically released in 2009 and recently released on DVD in the Hoanzl-Edition “Austrian Film“ and the Selection “Home Stories– 20 Austrian Documentaries to Watch“. Another four Witcraft projects are in the development pipeline and will be prepared for shooting over the next 1 to 3 years in co-operation with various production companies.
• In addition, Witcraft offers script consulting and development supervising for screenwriters and producers in Austria and in territories where German, English, Russian or Italian is spoken.
• Furthermore, Witcraft designs tailor-made training and workshop programs for script development, with expert implementation. Thus, Witcraft concepted and hosted the screenwriting workshop series Diverse Geschichten (Diverse Stories), supporting screenwriters with migrant backgrounds. Diverse Geschichten was nominated for the Austrian National Award of Adult Education in 2010.
