Ördögkatlan Cultural Festival

We keep dreaming.
We have been dreaming awake for sixteen years. Awake, because we are aware of the passing time, aware that a decade and a half has gone with us, with you, with Katlan, and we know and see how many ugly things happen in the so-called outside world and happen to us – but we continue to dream the common dream that our motto has been about since the beginning, because we know that the other reality born from our dreams is needed more than ever.
External circumstances have become more difficult since the festival’s birth in 2008. But they have also become easier, because there are many of us, a great many of us, who believe that for at least five days human aesthetics, curiosity and love can dominate the small island that we are creating together in the south of Baranya region. Our eternal patrons (Mari Törőcsik and Tamás Cseh) hold our hands and encourage us all: "Be non-normal and trust in those who send out love", Mari whispers, and Tamás adds: "There will always be a corner or two of the world where you can escape to". Tamás, you might agree, the Ördögkatlan Festival is such a small corner. We hide here, we gather here, and we believe that it can be done nicely and well.
