The Russian State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company (RTR - the company’s international logo, while VGTRK is its Russian abbreviation) was founded in 1990.
In 1993 RTR became an Active Member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and in 2003 – an Associate Member of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). Now RTR has 80 regional affiliates and is the greatest corporation of electronic mass media in Russia. The RTR Moscow broadcast center transmits simultaneously 15 TV channels to 28 various directions. 10 of those RTR TV channels have been launched during the last four years.
