About the Company

The UK Film Council is the lead agency for film in the UK ensuring that the economic, cultural and educational aspects of film are effectively represented at home and abroad. We invest Government grant-in-aid and National Lottery money in film development and production; training; international development and export promotion; distribution and exhibition; and education. The UK Film Council’s main initiatives: 1/ The Development Fund with 12 million over three years to support the development of a stream of high quality, innovative and commercially attractive screenplays. This fund is the largest of its type in Europe; 2/ The Premiere Fund with 24 million over three years to facilitate the production of popular, more mainstream films; 3/ The New Cinema Fund with 15 million over three years to back radical and innovative filmmakers, especially new talent, and to explore new electronic production technologies; 4/ The Print and Advertising Fund of 6 million over three year period; 4/ The Print and Advertising Fund - 6 million, distribution support; 5/ The Digital Screen Network - 11 million; 6/ International - international strategies for development
