The Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program (DFP) is a resource for independent documentary filmmakers worldwide working on cinematic documentaries focused contemporary themes. Year-round support spans granting between $1 and $2 million per year, Creative Documentary Labs for directors and producers at the Sundance Resort every summer, work-in-progress screenings held globally, discussions and presentations by invitation worldwide, documentary support at the Sundance Film Festival and the Sundance Creative Producing Summit, and a variety of convenings and partnerships designed to amplify the use of film as a tool for increasing awareness of key global challenges, and motivate change towards more open and equitable societies.
DFP has a Rolling Open. No deadlines.
The move to a Rolling Open Call allows filmmakers to submit applications only when they can best demonstrate their artistic intent, rather than according to pre-determined deadlines.
