4 Elements consist of:

- live-action films, documentaries, animations and experimental cinema, features as well as shorts,

- screenings in the cinema, open air cinema, the town`s castle and many other amazing places,

- workshops, master classes, presentations, concerts, parties,

- 4 Elements for Kids - the programme for children and their parents,

- summer edition as well as the Winter Film Seminar 4 Elements,

- unique atmosphere of the town of Banská Štiavnica!



The Summer Film Festival&Seminar 4 Elements is one of the oldest Slovak film events. Its rich programme concentrates on one topic and consists of live-action films, documentaries, animations and experimental cinema, features as well as shorts, to provide the audience with an amount of perspectives. It brings film screenings not only to the traditional venues such as cinema or open cinema, but screenes the films of the programme in places like the town`s Botanical Garden or The Old Castle, as well as many others, depending on the topic.

4 Elements gives the audience the chance to learn informally in many ways - the guest filmmakers and film theoreticians offers master classes, commented screenings or presentations. The festival&seminar during the years of its existence became the presentation platform for many partner projects of audiovisual art and fine art, musical events and parties.

The special programme for children and their parents is an essential part of the event - 4 Elements for Kids offers film screenings and different kinds of workshops.

In 2012 the first edition of the Winter Film Festival&Seminar 4 Elements was held in Banská Štiavnica. The winter edition of the event picks up one sub-topic of the topic of the year and concentrates its programme on it.
