Barbara Babačić was born in Rijeka in 1978. She holds M.A. and B.A. degrees from the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Cultural Studies and is currently a postgraduate student on the Faculty of Literature, Performing arts, Film and Culture, University of Zagreb.As a volounteer she has been engaged in projects by the Žmergo Association (Eko - parlament, Zeleni sat u školi, Zelena Čistka World Cleanup) and the International Solidarity Movement, attending congresses and seminars in Ramallah on non-violence resistance.She is president of Komitet, a local association which organizes Op.Art Quisisana - a performing arts, visual arts and music festival in Opatija and Volosko.The Settlers - Our New Neighbours with Guns is her debut documentary film.
