Jakob Weidner (1984) was studying in Venezuela at the EMPA, graduating from directing in 2010. Currently he is finishing his studies at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Germany. He worked in Nicaragua, Mexico and Guatemala for various international human rights organisations, international exchanges: Interbrigadas e.V., Carea e.V., IJGD. Working with Interbrigadas in 2010, he participated in setting up a school for audio-visual production in El Alto, Bolivia, where he gave lectures in camera.
He made two two-hour radio documentary programmes (Vom alten Antonio und vom neuen Leben – 2009, Oaxaca – 2011), which were broadcast on German radio stations (SWR, WDR, RBB, RB I, and others).The films which he worked on in Venezuela were shown on national television and other channels.
