Vlado Škafar, filmmaker, writer, is also engaged in the diffusion of the cinematic culture as he is, among other things, one of the co-founders of the Slovenian Cinematheque (program director from 1993 to 1999) and of the Kino Otok – Isola Cinema International Film Festival. As filmmaker, he first made short film Stari most (The Old Bridge, 1998, world premiere at Sarajevo FF), documentary feature Peterka - Leto odločitve (Peterka: Year of Decision, 2003, world premiere at Cinema du Reel, Paris, 2004), Pod njihovo kožo (Under their S.K.I.N., 2006, world premiere at Crossing Europe) and two film essays - Otroci (Letter to a Child, 2008, world premiere at Rotterdam IFF 2009) and Nočni pogovori z Mojco (Nighttime with Mojca, 2009, world premiere at FID Marseille). Oča (Dad) is his first fiction film and is selected for Venice Film Festival (International Critic's Week).
