Editor Anna Johnson Ryndova graduated from FAMU in 2002. Since then, she has
contributed to the making of seventeen feature length documentary films and six
fiction films. She was twice nominated for the Czech national film award for Pouta
(Walking Too Fast) and Zlaty podraz (Golden Sting), for the Slovak national film
award for Dom (House), and for the Latvian national film award for Gads pirms kara (The Year Before the War). From 2012 until 2015, she worked as a tutor and
lecturer of Film Studies at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, USA. The films she edited were screened at numerous festivals, eg. Visions du Reel, IDFA, DOK Leipzig, One World, Rotterdam, and Berlinale. She served twice as a tutor at CZ/SK dok.incubator and as a juror at Pražský filmový kufr festival since 2018. In her work as an editor and teacher, she is especially interested in the topics of authenticity, media literacy, and the ethics of film making. She loves to blur lines between fiction and documentary genres.
