Editor Anna Johnson Ryndova graduated from FAMU in 2002. Since then, she has contributed to the making of over fifteen feature length documentary films and five fiction films. She was twice nominated for the Czech national film award for Pouta (Walking Too Fast) and Zlaty podraz (Golden Sting), for the Slovak national film award for Dom (House), and for the Latvian national film award for Gads pirms kara (The Year Before the War). From 2012 until 2015, she worked as a tutor and lecturer of Film Studies at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, USA. The films she edited were screened at numerous festivals, eg. Visions du Reel, IDFA, and most recently two of her works at Berlinale 2021. In her work as an editor and teacher, she is especially interested in the topics of authenticity, media literacy, kitsch in all its forms, and the ethics of film making. She loves to blur lines between fiction and documentary genres. She serves as a tutor at dok.incubator and as a juror at Pražský filmový kufr festival. Currently, she is working on a documentary film about the cinematographer Robert Richardson based on 40 years worth of his home videos.
