Giona A. Nazzaro (Zurich, 1965) is the General Delegate of the Venice International Film Critics’ Week and Visions du Réel International Film festival programmer. Film critic, journalist and author of many books and essays on Hong Kong Cinema and postmodern action films, he writes regularly for newspapers, weeklies, and sector websites. He is Critic-in-chief for music magazine Rumore. Director of the Gender DocuFilm Fest, he was a correspondent for Extra L’altro cinema. He was a member of the selection committee for the Torino Film Festival, programmer for the Festival dei Popoli, and the Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma. Collaborates with the Festival del Film Locarno. He curated the exhibition The De/sign of Cinema. His first collection of short stories was published in 2010.
