Beate Schlanstein is Commissioning Editor History/Contemporary History at WDR (West German Television) in Cologne, Documentary Department/Culture and History. She has directed several documentary films and presented a History Show on TV. Over the last years she has developped and supervised lots of successful documentary projects, on subjects of regional, national and international history, some of them in national or international co-production, from the Roman Age to the most recent contemporary history and from classical documentary film to docudrama. She is a regular lecturer on “Public History” at various German universities.
