Gernot Lercher was born 1966 in Graz/Austria. Stories inspired by real life, told in moving movies: this is the philosophy of the Austrian filmmaker. Since the 1990s, Gernot Lercher served as author and director for more than 50 international TV-productions. No matter, if animals or people are the leading characters, his documentaries take the audience on expeditions to unique locations on all continents and give intimate insights into exciting destinies and events. Lercher directed some of the most successful documentaries in the younger history of ORF-Universum in terms of viewer share, like Green Pathways – Austria's Wild Frontiers or Europe's Last Nomads.
