Lala Aliyeva is an Azerbaijani documentary filmmaker and a graduate of MA in Visual Anthropology from Goldsmiths University, London. Lala has produced several short films, that premiered in different regional film festivals, including CineDoc and DocuBaku Film Festivals, and her THEY WHISPER BUT SOMETIMES SCREAM, 2019, premiered at Vision du Reel,2020, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Jihlava International Film Festivals.
Lala is the co-founder of YAMAN Film Production in Azerbaijan. Her debut feature documentary STRANGE SEA has been currently under development. The project has participated in different international labs, including East-West Lab, B2B, and EAVA Change.
Currently, she is teaching Documentary Storytelling in Baku.
