Maxim has lived, worked and studied in Moldova, UK, Greece, Czech Republic and Germany. Undergraduate of Ancient greek and latin he decided to combine his humanities studies with his initial purpose of creating films. He studied at Prague Film School directing and scriptwriting. The subjects he usually deals with are same-sex relationships, old age, psychological disorders, love and
hatred.
Eager to create ties with his home country Moldova, he initialized the creation of the MOLDOX Film Festival. The festival gave birth to MOLDOX Public Association which he is presiding over. Maxim is an alumni of the Torino Film Lab 2016 and Balkan Documentary Center. His short films Now you know (2011) and Lovebird (2015) went to more than 40 international film festivals and
has been nominated for best films. Maxim co-written with Nora Agapi the award-winning documentary Timebox (distributed on HBO Go).
At the moment Maxim lives in Thessaloniki (Greece), where he is finishing his Master’s degree in Scriptwriting at the University of Western Macedonia.
