Director Matej Vranič was born on December 16, 1974 in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia.
In 2000, he started as Freelance photographer. In 2006, he earned Photography Master title.
In 2012, he won the competition Best photography of Slovenia and earned few other awards.
Between 2009 and 2013, he prepared photo material for many published articles in the National Geographic Slovenia magazine.
Thirty years of his private interest in the animal world changed in professional work in the fields of wildlife photography and later filming. He produced and directed many music and commercial videos.
He combined his private interest, knowledge and experiences in wildlife photography as well as filmmaking and in 2016 he decided to produce his first wildlife documentary film Birds of the Lakes Return.
