Elena Volochine, 32, is a journalist, camerawoman and director. After setting up in Moscow in September 2012, she has covered Russia and the former Soviet bloc for most francophone TV and radio stations (i>TELE, Canal+, Arte, RTBF, RTS, France TV...) producing reports and feature stories. She has been France 24’s permanent Russia correspondent since the start of 2015, covering the annexation of Crimea and the war in East Ukraine on the ground. Elena was previously a reporter in Paris, where she worked for the CAPA agency on documentary programmes, and several TV channels. She holds a Masters in Cultural Journalism from Paris 3 University and a Masters in International Cooperation and Development from the University of Law, Montpellier 1 University. She speaks Russian, French and English.
