Bucharest-based independent documentary filmmaker, journalist, and researcher. After studying journalism in Bucharest, I moved to France, where I did my Master’s in Media Sociology at ENS Lyon. At the same time, I graduated from the Institute for Political Studies in Lyon, focusing on cultural communication and sociology of film. I obtained my Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Paris Nanterre in 2017. After living in France for six years, I came back to Bucharest, where I’m now working on bringing research and cinema together, doing documentaries that examine Romanian social realities. In 2018, I have released my first feature length, Portavoce, a documentary tracking the emergence of the Romanian protest culture.
