Gentian Koçi was born in 1979 in Tirana, Albania. He graduated from the Academy of Film and Multimedia Marubi in 2009 with a degree in film and television directing. He has worked for nearly a decade as a news camera operator for TV Klan, a national television channel in Tirana. His short fiction and documentary films have participated in several national and international film festivals. His fiction short Antenna (2008) was awarded Best National Film in the International Documentary and Short Film Festival DokuFest in Prizren, Kosovo in 2009. His short film Jinx In A Jiffy was the winner of the Best Albanian Short Film in Durres International Film Summerfest, the Best Editing prize at the 9/11 Film Festival in Kosovo and Best Film in the Swiskos Short Film Festival in Basel, Switzerland in 2010. Gentian's debut documentary "Not a carwash" was in official selection at Hot Docs 2012 and nominated for the Special Jury Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2012.
