Jonas Grosch was born in 1981 in Freiburg. At high school, he made a few short films screened at several festivals in Germany. After school he worked for Wüstefilm (Berlinale Winner 2005 for Head On) and took part in a few courses for screenwriting. Since 2004 he has been a screenwriting student at HFF Potsdam-Babelsberg. Der Weiße mit dem Schwarzbrot is his first feature documentary as a director.
