Uldis Tirons was born 1956 in Cesis, Latvia. He currently lives in Riga. Since 1993, he has worked as the editor of the magazine Rigas Laiks. He writes on philosophy, culture and travel. Between 1988 and 1991, he participated in the multi-media project The Shaman’s Landscape. In 1997, he worked on the documentary The Road to Tibet and has collaborated on the screenplay for a film about Richard Wagner, Escape from Riga.
