Mgr.Drahomil Šišovič is a graduate of University of Performing Arts in Bratislava and has worked in film and television since 1971. He is film director, screenwriter and producer, which makes artfilms and socially critical movies mainly focusing on the marginal classes of Slovak society. He is member of the Slovak Film and Television Academy.

F I L M O G R A P H Y
Drahomil Šišovič, B.A., is a graduate of the Academy of Arts in Bratislava. Since 1988, he has been active as a script writer, director, and producer – this was a time, when he began to work on and fund the collation of the material for a documentary film entitled Turba – Nepokoj (Turba – Unrest). Since 1989, he has been working as an independent performer in official culture.

A variety of themes relating to ethics, morals, and fate in our changing world are transformed by him into literary and audio visual forms, with the intention to communicate to the audiences our learning about the differences and to promote the improvement of the relations between the majority and minority populations within an extensive area of their co-existence.
He has directed several tens of author films, which are recorded on film and electromagnetic media. He has included them in the film cycles of domestic and foreign public televisions. He is a member of the Slovak Film and Television Academy. Also, he is active as an educator and in voluntary work.

ŽELANIA (WISHES, C -1992, 16 mm film, colour, neg., 37 min.) – a portrait of cartoonist M.Vanek, his family and friends.

ZLOMOK ČASU (A FRACTION OF TIME, C -1992, 16 mm film, colour, neg., 29 min.) – a view of human existence in the latter half of the 20th century via MIMOS International Festival of Movement Theatre.

DÚHOVÍ JAZDCI (THE RAINBOW RIDERS, C-1993, 16 mm film, colour, neg., 17 min.) – portrayal of a Scottish therapeutist in the community of Slovak mentally handicapped children with specific needs.

CAMICKÉ GROTESKY (THE CAMIC GROTESQUES, C -1993, 16 mm film, black-and-white, 13 min.) were a component part of a theatrical staging.

DOTYKY S OHŇOM (ENCOUNTERS WITH FIRE, C-1993, 16 mm film, colour, neg., 29 min.) – on the metamorphoses in the Roma blacksmiths‘ families in Slovakia.

POVOLANIE NAD ZLATO (A PROFESSION MORE PRECIOUS THAN GOLD, C-1995, 16 mm film, colour, neg., 25 min.) – on the metamorphoses of geology and its personalities in Slovakia.

SOĽ A SVETLO (SALT AND LIGHT, C-1996, 16 mm film, colour, neg., 28 min.) – a portrait of professor A. Dermek, an 82-year old Salesian.
