Jorge Vaz Gomes studied Directing at ETIC in Lisbon, Photography at ar.co school of arts, and has a Master in Multimedia Arts from the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon.. He worked in television for a few years, where he worked as a director, writing short fiction bits for an experimental cable tv channel. He directed the short films "Sobre a mesa", 2010; "O Quarteirão", 2015; "Jean-Claude", 2016, (special mention prize by the IndieLisboa jury, official competition at War on Screen Festival); and “mapa-esquisito" 2018, (IndieLisboa Short Film Competition 2018, Best Portuguese film prize at the Cinenova festival). He is now doing his pHD at the University Lisbon, and Paris-3 University, and was also a participant of the IDFA Academy 2021.
