Anna Artemyeva was born in Moscow. She graduated as a cinematographer and director of animation from VGIK (Russia). In 2021 Anna graduated from DocNomads documentary directing master’s program (Portugal, Hungary, Belgium).
Her diploma animation film Once Upon a Time There Lived a Mother was selected and awarded at numerous festivals.
Her documentary short film Don’t Hesitate to Come for a Visit, Mom made within studying at DocNomads in 2020 was selected to many festivals, including Visions du Réel, Hot Docs, Go Short, Artdocfest, Vienna Shorts, ZagrebDox, Doclisboa, and others. The film was awarded by IDFA spot award at Visions du Réel and as the best student film at VERZIÓ International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
