Being an Estonian producer and based now in Prague, Max Tuula is an executive at the Swedish production house EuroArctic MG. He is known for political and social-themed documentaries screened at Berlinale, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, IDFA, CPH:DOX, Sheffield Doc Fest, and honored at such dissimilar places as the European Parliament, European Children's Film Association or Berlin Porn Film Festival. The central themes of his work deal with the issues of political repression and resistance, social injustice, marginalization--and, in particular, Ukrainian resistance to Russian aggression, anti-Putin protest or decolonization of Northern Eurasia. He also collaborated with such programs and institutions as Berlinale's EFM Toolbox, B2B Doc, the goEast Film Festival and Institute of Documentary Film.
