Max Shchur (born in 1977 in Brest) is a Czech-Belarusian poet, writer and translator, living in Prague since 1998. He published several books of poetry: Amphitheatre (1999), The Early Harvest (2006), Amalgam (2010), Modus bibendi (2012), Summer Time (2013), Arrythmia (2019); his poems have been translated to Czech, Polish, Slovenian, Swedish and Ukrainian. His novel To Close the Gestalt was awarded the Jerzy Gedroyc Prize for the best Belarusian fiction (2016). He is the editor of litrazh.org webzine and regularly collaborates with several literary magazines, such as Tvar, Analogon, Plav and others. As an amateur filmmaker is active since 2006.
