Assel Yerzhanova is famous in Kazakhstan as an independent film producer. In 2009 she graduated from The Russian State University of Cinematography (VGIK) specializing in film and television production. Currently Assel’s portfolio contains more than 30 films as an executive and line producer, among which there are “Tulip” (dir. Sergey Dvortsevoy, Cannes 2008 Prix un certain regard), “Shiza” (Kazakhstan/Germany/France/Russia, 2003), “Horse Thieves. Roads of Time”, and “Small People” (Locarno Film Festival and Karlovy Vary International Film Festival nominee, 2003). Since 2018 she’s heading the Film Film Film LLP.
Kazakhstan
