Ivan was born in Belgrade, where he graduated in Electrical engineering. He also attended several film schools where he made short films. His first feature-length film "The Disappearance of Heroes" won the Regional Grand Prix at the festival of documentary films Beldocs in 2009; it was subsequently screened at national TV and had international premiere at Trieste IFF. In 2010 he completed postgraduate studies at Faculty for dramatic arts, department for Media and advertising where he received a degree in directing and producing promotional videos.
