Ján Šuda (1939) is a director and scriptwriter. He started as an uncomromising film critic. Later on he gained public acclaim as a scriptwriter for TV films, e.g.: The Big Case, A Flight /1-3/, for which he won the Award of the Director of the Czechoslovak TV (1986).
In addition, he also works on documentaries, creating mostly art films such as (A Book and the Violin, Pastorale of Liptov). At present he is working on a comprehensive project callled European Bookbinders, devoted to one of the oldest crafts – artistic book-binding, e.g., Inspiration of Jindřich Svoboda, Ivan Galamboš – Restoration of the Antiphonary, Dialogues with Father, etc.
