Marie Dvorakova is a Czech-born filmmaker based in New York. She is the winner of the Student Academy Award for her short film Who's Who in Mycology. The film screened at Telluride, Palm Springs, Karlovy Vary international film festivals, and others, made possible through the assistance of grants from the Spike Lee Production Fund and Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. In addition, Marie is the recipient of the Director’s Guild of America Student Filmmaker Award. Her work was shortlisted for the AICP Show at MoMA and Cannes Young Director Award Show. She also gained experience in 2D/3D animation and motion graphics while working as a creative director at the animation studio The Studio NYC in New York. She holds film degrees from FAMU and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
